Auto Glass Insurance Facts
If you carry co
mprehensive insurance in the state of SC, your auto glass can be repaired or replaced FREE of charge. Laws differ from state to state, so if your insurance is not in SC you might be responsible for the deductible. Other states with similar laws to SC include Kentucky and Florida. Our staff can help you determine if you will have to pay anything out-of-pocket for your auto glass repair or windshield replacement.
Do I have glass coverage on my policy? Will it cost me anything to get my glass fixed?
If you have SC full or comprehensive insurance, you have glass coverage. It does not matter what insurance company you have, state law requires them to waive your deductible. If you are not sure whether you have full or comprehensive insurance, one way to tell is to look at your policy. If it shows a deductible, you have glass coverage (the deductible will be waived, and you will not pay anything). If you do not have full or comprehensive, it will not show a deductible. That would mean you have liability only.
Will a windshield repair or windshield replacement claim raise my insurance?
No, filing a claim for windshield repair or auto glass replacement will not raise your premiums. And in SC, you will not pay your deductible either. It is truly no cost to you.
What if my car has liability only?
Liability insurance only covers damages to another vehicle. Damages to the auto glass in your vehicle will not be covered under a liability insurance policy, but we offer very competitive pricing and free quotes for auto glass repair and windshield replacement.

What is the state law that waives my deductible in SC?
SC Code Section 38-77-280 (B): Any automobile physical damage insurance coverage deductible or policy deductible does not apply to automobile safety glass.
How many windshield claims can I file in a year?
There is no set limit. If you travel on highways a lot, several windshield repairs or windshield replacements would not be unusual within a year period. If you are unsure whether it will affect your policy, your agent should be able to tell you details specific to your situation.
